Bayou Land Conservancy has been at the forefront of land preservation in the Houston region for more than 20 years. The organization was formed in 1996 as a land conservation committee of Bayou Preservation Association, a group dedicated to protecting the bayou systems of Houston.
Bayou Land Conservancy’s Wild and Scenic Film Festival, a festival by activists for activists, leaves you feeling inspired and motivated to make a difference in your community and the world. Here you can experience the adrenaline of kayaking wild rivers, climbing the highest peaks, and trekking across the globe with adventure films from around the world.
You’ll witness how individuals and communities across the globe are taking action. Our selected films will cover a variety of environmental topics and offer spectacular scenery, breathtaking journeys, and stories of human connections. 10 films are shown, and a raffle contest occurs during intermission. Films include Blue Carbon, Aiden’s Butterflies, Downstream, and Our Last Trash.
BLC hopes to use the festival to increase a better community understanding of the connection we share with the planet and our role as stewards to keep it healthy for the next generations. We hope the evening will inspire you to join BLC in our mission!
