Honor Twenty Years of Jill Scott When the Neo-Soul Artist Performs Live in Houston
One of the most impactful spoken word poets and neo-soul artists in music, Jill Scott, is on the road to commemorate the release of her legendary debut album. Who Is Jill Scott? Words & Sounds Vol. 1 was released in 2000. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the album, Scott will perform it in its entirety. Don’t miss it Sunday, March 8th at Revention Music Center!
With hits like "Love Rain," "Gettin' In The Way," "A Long Walk," and fan-favorite "He Loves Me (Lyzel in E Flat)" all coming packaged on Who Is Jill Scott?, the Philadelphia-bred singer/songwriter left a permanent mark on the music industry, tallying up five Grammy nominations for her efforts. Some of those Grammy nominations include Best New Artist (2001), Best R&B Album (2001), and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for three years in a row (2001-2003).
Now, with three Grammy Awards of her own and acting credits in Tyler Perry films such as Why Did I Get Married? (2007) and Why Did I Get Married Too? (2010), Jilly From Philly is ready to give back during her upcoming anniversary tour. Scott and her team will donate $1.00 of each ticket sold from her tour to the Blues Babe Foundation, an initiative launched to help young minority students pay for university expenses.
Be there when Jill Scott returns to Houston for the Who Is Jill Scott? 20th Anniversary Tour on Sunday, March 8th! The concert will be held at Revention Music Center at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at www.livenation.com.
